The CPU was delidded carefully by me to replace the stock TIM (Thermal Interface Material) to Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut, a high performance liquid metal compound. The CPU does not reach beyond 65 °C during heavy work loads or gaming even with the simple Hyper EVO 212 cooler that I used for this build. PNY Anarchy 8×2 GB 2400 MHZ RAM is included in this combo sale and runs perfect with the offered setup. This chip has headroom to overclock higher with proficient cooling. The 4.7 GHz all core, 1.32 V, AVX=0, profile is saved in the motherboard settings because Ive found it to be super stable while keeping temperatures very low. Delidded Core i7-5775C CPU with Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 motherboard

These parts have been used heavily for gaming over the last 3 years, but they are in good condition. Neither motherboard nor CPU were ever overclocked, or used for “mining” or other compute workloads. This was a “Wintendo”, strictly a gaming PC. These parts are working pulls; I was gaming on them yesterday. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5. It’s a full-featured MicroATX motherboard with Crossfire and SLI support. You can see the full details of the board here. It is to the best of my knowledge fully-working (I have never tested the PCIe x1 slot or the PS/2 connectors) and I have cleaned it thoroughly with compressed air. I did not get a picture of it, but I also have the cushioned I/O plate. I do not have the paper manual or driver discs, but you can download all of that from the motherboard website above. The CPU has been delidded. The processor was cleaned of the adhesive and then the heatspreader was replaced, with Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra TIM used between the CPU die and the IHS. The TIM was also applied to the “Crystalwell” L4 cache chip. To see the full specifications of the CPU. It is possible to safely remove the CPU from the motherboard, but it takes great care as the IHS is not attached. I did not attempt to overclock it; I delidded the CPU mostly because I already had the delid tool and I wanted it to run cool, which it does. There is some minor cosmetic damage to the heatspreader; it does not affect functionality at all. Due to a firmware bug in this board that Gigabyte never fixed, you cannot use the Iris Pro graphics of the Core i7-5775C CPU alongside a discrete GPU. You can use the Iris Pro graphics just fine on their own, OR you can use a discrete GPU. However, attempting to use both will cause a hang in Windows. Make sure the integrated CPU graphics are disabled when attempting to use a discrete GPU. Every other function of the board works just fine. However, as long as you leave the CPU installed in the board it shouldn’t be a problem. This combo includes the following parts. Intel i7 7700K CPU, delidded. EK Supremacy EVO CPU water block. I delidded the 7700k using a Rockit88 tool and applied Coolabority Liquid Metal Ultra. The heatspreader has been re-installed using a dot of super glue at each corner. This dropped the temps around 30C under load using the same settings and allowed me to push the overclock fairly high. Thermal Grizzly Hydronaught was used between the IHS and water block. This chip is a somewhat above average overclocker. I was able to achieve 5.1GHz at 1.4v with temperatures settling in to the low 70’s under full load. This voltage could probably be tuned back a little more but that was just a quick dirty OC tested for 1 hour using ROG Realbench with the highest voltage I consider safe for this architecture. Please note: as always, your milage may vary when overclocking. Performance depends on a lot of things such as your power supply, VRM cooling, memory, ambient temperature, and many other factors. I was able to achieve 5.1 stable on this setup but you may see a slightly better or worse result. I have left the BIOS with that overclock in place but I would be glad to reset it (it even has a clear CMOS button on the board to make it really easy) if you would prefer to start from stock.
